Logistics Emissions Scan

With its substantial emissions of greenhouse gases, road, rail and water transport is a major contributor to climate change. All are now agreed that while providing major economic benefits, freight transport also has a substantial environmental footprint. But how big is that footprint exactly? What emissions do your logistical operations give rise to? And more importantly: what can you do about them? How effective are measures like modal shift and logistical optimisation? The Logistics Emissions Scan can help you address these questions.

How can my company benefit from the emissions scan?

The Logistics Emissions Scan takes the basic data on your logistical operations (kilometres, fuel consumption, load factors and so on) and uses them to calculate the associated CO2, NOx, SO2 and particulate emissions. The tool is designed to provide detailed insight into the emissions of your transport operations and how they are influenced by particular parameters. Examples of questions you can answer with the aid of the Logistics Emissions Scan include:

  • What are my annual emissions?
  • What mode of transport is best for the environment in my specific situation?
  • How would higher load factors affect my annual emissions?
  • What is the impact of investing in a higher Euro emissions class for my truck or fleet?

The Logistics Emissions Scan is available free of charge. If so required, we will naturally be glad to advise you on applying the tool in your particular business.
