The environmental and economic benefits of the Dutch ‘Green Financing Scheme’

The Dutch  ‘Green Financing Scheme’ has proved a cost-effective tool for securing environmental targets. The scheme has stimulated innovation and ensured that environmental innovations have found their way to the marketplace. This is the main conclusion of this study into the sustainability gains and economic benefits accruing from the scheme. On July 8, 2013, the report was presented to state secretary Wilma Mansveld of the ministry of Infrastructure & Environment and Itske Lulof, chair of the Dutch Green Funds Council and fund manager of Triodos Green Fund by Frans Rooijers, director of CE Delft.
