At the recent World Dairy Forum in Porto, CE Delft presented the results of a study commissioned by EDA. Greenhouse-gas emissions were assessed separately for the dairy sector, rather than for animal husbandry sectors combined. Direct livestock emissions of dairy cattle account for 1.2% of global greenhouse-gas emissions. The dairy life cycle contributes 3% to 3.5%.
