Summary:

As part of the elaboration of the Masterplan ‘Rotterdam Vooruit’, the environmental impacts of the infrastructure round the van Brienenoord bridge were investigated. The results are set out in this interim report on the Strategic Impact Assessment, which describes the likely environmental impacts. The main impacts to emerge relate to degradation of nature, landscape and cultural heritage. Based partly on this interim report, the exploratory ‘MIRT’ study for the Masterplan was further elaborated, specifically for the subproject ‘Redesign of the Brienenoord and Algera corridor’, focusing on practical strategies for addressing the issues identified.
