Summary:

In this study (commissioned by the European Environment Agency) CE Delft, Ecologic and TU Dresden have made an overview of transport subsidies in Europe. After collecting data on all kinds of fiscally relevant, transport-related subsidies, a lower bound for the overall level of European fiscal support to transport has been estimated. These kinds of support include direct grants but also excemptions for taxes or charges and public investments in infrastructure.
