In early 2012 the Dutch Consumers Association and Greenpeace ranked 23 power suppliers operating in the Dutch market according to the sustainability of their products. In 2014 a new ranking is to be published, this time by the Dutch Consumers Association, Greenpeace, the Netherlands Society for Nature and the Environment, Hivos, the World Wide Fund for Nature, Wise and the Dutch Association of Home Owners.
For this new version an updated, objective review was required of the company profiles and fuel mixes of the electricity suppliers operating in the Netherlands. That review is provided in this report.
For each of the companies, information was gathered and subsequently reported in the form of a factsheet, distinguishing between three types of supplier:
