Scenarios for the heat transition in The Hague

The municipality of The Hague has pledged to become climate-neutral by 2040, but it is as yet unclear what steps need to be taken the coming decades to achieve that goal. Over the past few years The Hague local authority has commissioned various studies to identify the available options for a climate-neutral heat supply.

This document sets out the possibilities for creating a sustainable heat supply for the built environment, outlining five scenarios The Hague could pursue. For each of these the financial consequences are estimated and the planning steps described.
