Update of Maritime Greenhouse Gas Emission Projections

The Third IMO Greenhouse Gas Study 2014 contained a range of projections of maritime emissions in the period up to 2015. This report updates these projections and finds that the emissions will increase by 20-120% between 2012 and 2050 if the world moves away from using fossil fuels in line with the Paris Agreement and demand for transport of oil and coal diminishes accordingly.
