Vlietzone wind turbine. Costs of two strategies for reducing local impact

The Vlietzone wind turbine is the only one operational within the municipal boundaries of The Hague. It has been on-line since the end of 2016 and even though it satisfies all the relevant rules and regulations, its installation has led to (public) debate about perceived nuisance to local residents. During a committee meeting of the municipal council on 30 May, 2018, the alderman therefore agreed to provide a rough estimate of the cost of moving the turbine or taking it off-line at night. The Hague Municipal Authority asked CE Delft to draw up a rough cost estimate for these two scenarios.
